Open House this Wednesday!

Come join us (and invite some friends!) on February 15th, 2017 in the Mequon Conference Center for an Open House.

Refreshments will be served.

We will share sample speeches and evaluations, demonstrating how we give constructive feedback on different elements of a speech (body language, word choice, speaking within a time limit). You will also get to see a demonstration of our impromptu speaking challenge, Table Topics.
Don’t be afraid! Our club provides a warm, welcoming meeting for people just like you, who’s looking to improve their public speaking and leadership skills. As a Toastmasters member, you will learn how to:
Run efficient meetings. Every week one club member fulfills the role of Toastmaster. The Toastmaster acts as the emcee for the night to ensure the meeting runs smoothly and on time.

Become a better listener. If you want to become a better communicator, learn how to listen. Each week our speakers are evaluated on their performance.

Give effective feedback. Toastmasters promotes the “Sandwich approach” to feedback – positive feedback – room for improvement – positive feedback.

Become a confident public speaker. Toastmasters provides the opportunity to practice public speaking and receive constructive feedback.

Networking. Although not officially a networking group in the traditional sense of the word, Toastmasters offers wonderful networking opportunities with like-minded people.

Congratulations!!

Mentorship Program

Are you struggling with your Toastmasters Experience?  Need someone to give you that push to get your icebreaker done?  Want someone to review your speech before you present it to the group?  If so, the mentorship program is for you!

ROK the Talk has a mentorship program that includes many people who not only are still newer to Toastmasters, but have also recently overcame many obstacles to getting started.  We also have a few seasoned members with more experience.

When you join, you will be offered a mentor, and even if you decline, you can always ask for one later.  Any one of the officers of the club are more than willing to lend an ear or offer advice on any situation you might be in.  If you want to work with various people, or have a dedicated mentor, the choice is yours!
